This day is gorgeous ... temperatures in the low 70's, blue skies and poufs of white clouds easing across the sky. A light breeze coming in the windows and it feels as if autumn is on the way. The cicadas continue to sing their cascading, rhythmic serenade in ever growing waves. I had a kidney stone a couple of weeks ago with high fever for a few days before I even knew what was going on--of course, I knew I had a high fever, just didn't know why). We were having a heat wave (who wasn't?) but when I compare a heat wave in LA to what we were having here I feel as if I'm cheating to even think of complaining. I escaped LA just before their worst heat wave hit, and am blessed to have experienced the miniscule "heat wave" here in upstate NY which lasted only two or three days. The day before yesterday we had a great thunderstorm in the afternoon and things have steadily cooled off ever since. Each day we get more rain ... rain in the summer, what a treat. I'm...

I am new to blogging, and trying out WordPress as my blog of choice. We're having a heat wave, but for me it seems mild compared to the summers I'm used to in LA. Early this afternoon a thunderstorm hit, with lightening striking pretty much right here on the farm. The rain came down so hard I couldn't see out the windows for a while.
