The Yin Yang of Spring

Yin Yang. That's what we named Cat Cat's two kittens because there are just the two of them and they cuddle together in a perfect yin yang. Yin is the darker kitten, Yang the one with more white on his/her body. They are still very young but have just this week begun to take tiny wobbling little steps. They recognize me and Yin in particular seems to quite enjoy being up on my shoulder, nuzzled in my long hair. Mostly they spend their time sleeping or nursing and almost always cuddling with each other and their sweet mother, Cat Cat....

A couple of weekends ago my husband and I drove down south of our place, and down a ways south of Buffalo to a little town called Brocton, near the shore of Lake Erie. A couple of days before our drive there had been a nice snow fall in Western New York, and with below freezing temperatures for a few days afterwards the snow was still on the ground all across the lovely countryside. In fact, there had been no wind to speak of so the snow still clung to the branches of trees which created quite a winter wonderland...

Yes, I said on Wednesday that I would write more this week, so here I am to keep that appointment. Have a cuppa with me? I am on a mission to publish my first knitting book by the end of this summer. It will be a book of hand knit Christmas Stocking patterns, the firefly way. It is an ambitious mission because I do have writing clients I must attend to, my fine art paintings to continue creating, and my husband, daughter, and dog to continue to attend to as needed here at home. I must design and knit one...

Sunday as we pulled into the long circular drive around the house toward the back yard, my husband noticed deer tracks leading to a little tree we just planted this past autumn. It was a beautiful day with blue skies and big clouds, so we decided to have a walk around the place to check out what damage the deer(s) may have caused.
