One River, a photography show curated by me and my husband, will open tomorrow night (Friday, December 2, 2011) at Marti's on Main in Albion, New York.  The public is welcome to the opening reception from 5:30 to 9:00 that evening.  If you are one of my readers in the local area, I hope you will come by.  It will be a fun, warm, and happy evening.  We have fifty six photographs printed on Kodak's Endura Metallic paper in sizes 8x10, 11x14 and 16x20 all matted and framed in the exhibit. The past month has involved quite a bit of hard work preparing for our photography show; the show is opening on December 2nd at Marti's on Main in Albion, New York.  When we first decided to do a photography show this December, the idea seemed rather simple and easy to pull off.  Of course it could have stayed that way, but the more we worked on it, the bigger our plans became and the more work there was to be done.  No regrets about that at all, we are having a good time doing something productive and creative that the...

I am doing Weight Watchers, the online program.  I am not particularly into diets, and favor instead lifestyle changes as being the only really viable means of addressing weight and health related issues.   I was nice and trim when we got married five years ago, but each year since I have put on an average of five pounds which usually happens over the winter months (big surprise). ...

Hostas, my vista baby

Do you remember when I wrote about planting hostas back in June of 2008? Well, take a look at how those hostas have grown. There are plenty more around the house in various locations, but those we planted by this old, quaint but out-of-use back porch came in with gusto this year. Since planting them, I have often seen other folks' hostas, some quite huge and lush and longed for ours to attain such grandeur. Imagine my delight when I looked outside one morning after many days of rain and saw how wonderful abundant our hosta display had become. This...
