The Advent of Santa

Today I show you 17 Santas from my collection ... Christmas is drawing quite near indeed.  It snowed again, lightly, this morning and things are looking very lovely outside our many windows.  My favorite sight is looking outside the dining room windows and seeing the barn in the snow. It looks most Christmasey to me, for some reason. Santa, Day 16 is one my husband purchased for me in the Adirondack mountains, at the Adirondack museum, on a fall vacation we took a couple of years ago. The Bus Stops Here

I was up very late this evening and into the wee hour (1:00 is just one wee hour and I went to bed right after this post which I did at 1:10 a.m. or so, so yes, singular "wee" hour) of the morning. There is a book project I am working on and there was a long, long wait while files uploaded and re-uploaded. While I waited I dreamed I was on a shopping trip in the city on a bus. I would love to spend a little time with you, my reader, on my blog today. It is a stormy day in upstate New York, and we are expecting snow a bit later in the week. The turkey is waiting to be thawed, the groceries and fresh produce from our favorite farm market are purchased and waiting for Thursday's big day of cooking and gratitude. Tomorrow morning I will try to sit down with a cuppa and do a bit of writing for you, but I cannot promise that will happen; it might be Friday morning before I can do...

Somewhere north of here

Somewhere north of here there is a place where a gazillion little elves are working around the clock to help a jolly ol' guy in a red suit create some magic that will bring happiness and joy to a great many children and other human beings. Their effort will be worthwhile, no matter how hard they have to work in getting there. Memories of the magic they create will live on in the hearts and minds of those who experience it for years to come. They will make a difference, those elves and that jolly ol' guy in the red...
